There's sumpin' wrong here

Both of these are rather old stories by Internet standards. But as you read them compare and contrast:
Schoolboys punished with detention for refusing to kneel down and pray to Allah | Mail Online
Christian registrar who refused to marry gay couples reveals bullying ordeal at hands of politically correct colleagues | Mail Online
One wonders what would have transpired if the registrar had been a Muslim who had refused to marry gay couples. Would the multi-cultural nonsense trump the political correctness nonsense. Or would it be the other way around?
Once one reduces standards it seems that one is adrift.

These Are Our Leaders?!

As those in the know are aware, Bloody Nib Manor is in the state of California. This is an unfortunate state of affairs as we at the Manor would much rather be our own city-state.
But being in the Golden State we often find ourselves at the mercy of politicians who have the capability for logic as do three year old children. Two examples of Californian politicos thinking follow:
The governor of the state, a former body builder and B-movie actor, stated that the recent wildfires in the state were due to "global warming." The fires in question were caused by lightening strikes in forests and the fires spread because of bad forest management. The temperatures in the affected areas did not rise to 451 degrees before the fires broke out. And the fires burned so enthusiastically because there had been no clearing of brush by earlier fires for over fifty years. Redskin Indians had a better understanding of forestry management than this Austrian hillbilly. There are times when wildfires are the result of nature and should be allowed to burn. The problem is that the state allowed too much growth of forests and scrub. Not global warming.
The senior senator of the state, Dianne Feinstein ("I can have a concealed carry permit but you can't even if you live in a crime ridden neighborhood") recently stated that the water supply problem in the state was due to the fact that the original water supply system was designed when the state had a population of 16 million and now the population is over 30 million and that the residents of the state had better get damned used to using less water. This is the same woman who wanted, last year, to legalize a couple million illegal aliens in the state instead of deporting them. Apparently illegal aliens, in her mind, do not use water as she has yet to advocate the deportation of people who are here illegally and and partake of the state's water supply.
Perhaps it might be a good idea to require all elected officials, upon, election and re-election, take and pass a course in logic.
